Juice – Remember, this isn’t my list of ‘Favorite Movies of All Time’ – It’s the list of movies that when I catch them, I stop what I’m doing and watch them. Dark Knight demands involvement. Rudy sweeps me up with unabashed sentimentality. Stops me dead every single time.

@Juice – I love The Dark Knight but the premise of this list is the movies that make me stop everything I’m doing to watch them. These 5 do that every single time. Everybody should have their own list. The only correct list is your own.

And Suzanne – I am a HUGE fan of movie soundtracks – I think music and pictures, when married together successfully – just totally sucks you in. Shawshank is soooooooo good because of that awesome Thomas Newman score.

Hmmmm, good list though I’d have to add Goonies, which was amazing for me, along with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Fantasia. Yes, I love music in movies or movies that are created around music. The last two were key as they really nailed the combo of the two in very different days. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Growing up I idolized your mother. My first real memories of your father are with your mother. She was always so warm and caring towards me before you came along and stole all her attention. Just kidding. As far as I’m concerned your mother can never do wrong. Yep, I guess I still idolize her. Buy her some lottery tickets, will ya!!!

I have been so fortunate to have three wonderful children. There were times when you were growing up when I wasn’t sure my decisions were always right. But like any other parent in unchartered waters I did the best I could. Thank you for making my Mother’s Day so special and comforting. Love, Mom

Aw, nice post, Ed! I sent my own mom similar sentiments when Jason was about 3, when I started getting a clue as to what kind of sacrifices it takes to parent. Of course, she had 7 kids so that isn’t anything In which I will ever be able to relate! I remember well the struggles your Mom went through after your parents divorced, but always foremost in her mind was the care and well-being of her kids. The best reward is happy adult children with fulfilled lives, and she’s got that.
