Editor’s Note: As some of you know, I’m on staff as a game reviewer for the electronic entertainment site, Avault.com. I intend to publish all of my reviews on these pages to insure I have a full record of everything I’ve written. If you haven’t read this before, enjoy!!!
Despite it’s immense popularity, the constant knock against the Nintendo Wii has been its anemic software support for hardcore gamers. Store shelves are stocked with a variety of party games aimed squarely at the casual consumers who pushed the Wii to its lofty perch but, to date, the system has been deficient of the type of in-depth action adventure titles that supported the last-generation’s big mainstream success, the Sony PS2. Tecmo aims to fill that gap with a port of their PS2 hit, Rygar: The B... Continue reading »

Slander suit be damned, I’m going to launch this review with an earth-shattering revelation. We’re talking Da Vinci Code, faked-moon landing, Milli Vanilli levels of conspiracy paranoia here. I am utterly convinced that tween rocker Hannah Montana (star of Disney’s ‘reality show’ of the same name) and Miley Cyrus, Achy Breaky’s brat, are one in the same. True confession time. I’ve never seen an episode of Grey’s Anatomy in my life and my brain boggles at the notion of how the once geeky Patrick Dempsey pushed McSteamy aside to be stud du jour. I guess this makes me the perfect critic to check into the virtual Seattle Grace and review Ubisoft’s licensed game from ABC’s hot property, Grey’s Anatomy. There’s no question that the show has grown to be a ratings powerhouse i... Continue reading »

It’s become cliché to mention it, but the Nintendo Wii has defied all expectations and emerged as this current console generation’s clear winner, in terms of pure sales. While Nintendo may not have pushed the envelope in terms of greater graphics or phenomenal processing power, they did accomplish their mission of pulling more gamers into the fold – some would argue at the detriment to their loyal hardcore fan base. And while... Continue reading »

Somewhere on my Bucket List, I have a very important mandate. #38 (or so), Make a Bucket List. It’s that whole self-reflexive, self-fulfilling prophecy that pretty much insures I’ll never make a bucket list.
First, there’s the fact that concept smacks me as a slight ray of sunshine wrapped in the doom and gloom reminder of your own mortality. Second, that Jack Nicholson/Morgan Freeman bromcom just about killed it for me.
That said, I get the core beauty of the idea. There really is something inspiring in drafting a list of things that you absolutely have to do before you die. Of course, if you’re sitting down in your middle class digs and etching a sketch of what your final days should consist of, you probably want to keep things a little closer to reality....
