Enjoying your holiday?
Well snap out of it. It’s time to get to work. While the rest of the world slumbers and meanders through their Monday, we begin the week in the final stretch. Two more rounds to go and if you don’t have total recall over Dawson’s Creek, there isn’t a President alive or dead who can save you now.
So, here’s the rules for those who have made it through two weeks and four rounds and are still tempted to call on the powers of the Internet to aid your cheating ways. The only rule is – No Cheating!!! No Google. No Yahoo. No Wikipedia. No communing with the spirits of dead Presidents to call upon the collective knowledge of their secret Skull & Bones society. Nada!!!

So, fine, Clapton is 64. However, once you get up around 70, you’re pretty much irrelevant anyway. Tony Bennett Come on! I don’t know one person who bought that thing. How did that go platinum?

Okay, I need Joe and Rob to tank the last round, plus I need a perfect score AND a correct bonus question in order to reach my age…not happenin’. Oh, and I also need all 11 questions to be Seinfeld ones.
It occurred to me to cautiously in a round-about way to accuse the leaders of googling with abandon, but then I realized that this must be how all of those dozens and dozens of people felt when I consistently creamed them in the original Trivial Pursuit versions ( never lost a game, and I carried all of my teams). So, OF COURSE, completely useless bits o’ nothing can be crammed into brains for no apparent reason. I just need to update my files!

@Aunt Sharon – I’d be very wary of accusing the leaders of Googling. For starters, if I knew these answers in order to come up with the questions, it stands to reason that others do too.

@Ed- I accused no one, in fact I conceded that at one time, I was also full of completely useless game-winning pie-popping bits of minutia, and I must have passed the torch to you young’ins and just did not realize it…until now!
And in a chat conversation with the Globe’s TV critic,Matthew Gilbert, it was floated that Desmond’s baby Charlie could be THE Charlie…so before my nose starts to bleed ( I already have the migraine, but that’s another issue) is that even possible/plausible in the time-travel storyline???

@Aunt Sharon – That Charlies is Charlie theory is too wacky even for this show. I think it is as simple as they named him in honor of the Charlie who gave his life to warn the others and also passed on word to Penny that Desmond was alive and well.

Oh, thank heavens…I was just beginning to have a firm grasp on the time travel, but having a baby in 2007-ish who dies as an adult in 2004 was a bit beyond my muddled comprehension! And if Ed’s Head says it isn’t so, that’s good enough for me!
