9. Along Came A Ryder (originally published June 13, 2007)
Frequent readers of this site are accustomed to the little mini-series I like to launch. Essentially, I like to wrap similarly themed posts under one common umbrella (hence the My Favorite Things series, In Ed’s Head, etc…) At the end of the day, they all fall into one common category – the insane ramblings of a mad man. Along Came a Ryder is an installment in my Adventures of Gutt & Pole series. These are all true tales ripped from my life that I just so happened to wrap in that comic aesthetic. The thing is, I think casual readers bought the illusion as readership tended to dwindle whenever that fake comic cover was spotted. I promise you – there is nothing comic-book about these posts aside from me and my rudimentary Photoshop skills. Anyway, this piece documents my post-collegiate experience making it in the big bad world on my own alongside the first guys I shacked up with after being booted from the nest. I’m my own worst critic and trying to be modest here but this one did make me laugh. If that’s not enough of a selling point, the Comments provide a revealing discourse on the shocking amount of soft-core smut that was peddled under our roof. Enjoy!

How come you didn’t use my head from this second photo? I never noticed that before. I have to look all mean in the comic and you boys look so sweet and innocent…
Good times! I totally forgot about the demon desk. And yes, much laughter while reading this one again. The question is, does anyone outside the three of us find our misadventures funny?
And just so I am clear about my last question in the previous comment, I am not questioning whether the piece has well written humor, because it does. I am questioning if anyone else has a thought on it because I find it odd that only the three ex-roomies commented on this one. Where are our bro’s coming with the pr0n defense? If you don’t, we can throw you under the bus too. You know who you are…
