[...] Superman Returns was my most anticipated movie of the Summer and my initial review was probably a little more glowing than it should have been. I will say it made for some good blogging fodder here and over on BBn, even though Jason lost some of my comments due to a technical glitch. I am looking forward to seeing it again on DVD to see how it stands up, and yes, I will be buying it. I am going to readdress my Top 5 Comic Book Movie List after recently watching both Spiderman flicks (can’t wait for three next year!). [...]

[...] Having seen Superman Returns over the past weekend, I decided to lead off with my Top 5 Favorite Comic Book Movies. I’ll cover that in a separate post. Before I get into that, I wanted to touch upon my reaction to Supes. [...]

@Ed - I didn't even think of Unbreakable for my list, but I haven't seen it since it came out. I should definitely pick it up as that's a good one to own. Way to think out of the box!

I am going to stick by my list that I posted in my Superman Returns post for now, but you make a good argument about the Spidey sequel being better than the first. I think I'll watch them both and see if it changes my mind.

@Joe - LOL on #3. I'm thinking you can now, or some day soon, add the Buffy boxes to that as well. That will learn you for buying TV on DVD!

All right, here's my five.

5. Godzilla (Emmerich Version)
4. ID4 (Kubrick Version)
3. All 9 Seasons of the X-Files at $89 a pop - when years later they would be discounted to $19.99 a set
2. 10 Different Versions of Army of Darkness
1. Disturbing Behavior

Oops, my bad. I thought this was the area for Top 5 Regretful DVD Purchases.

And speaking of Lovecraft, SOTA toys will soon be releasing this beastie, which I've been waiting for since 2004: Cthulhu

Yeah, I'm really hoping for Del Toro's At the Mountains of Madness. Heck, I'd be willing to wait for Hellboy 2 in order to get ATMOM first.

You definitely should check out Hellboy. I'd be curious to see what you thought. Be sure to check out the director's cut--it's longer, but it adds a few key scenes, and it's one of the rare director's cuts that I find superior to the theatrical one.
