batman begins showed there was a different way to do these movies and I hope more will follow that lead as going a new direction is truly what makes us lose ourselves in these movies….you nailed it with this one

@Ed - I didn't even think of Unbreakable for my list, but I haven't seen it since it came out. I should definitely pick it up as that's a good one to own. Way to think out of the box! I am going to stick by my list that I posted in my Superman Returns post for now, but you make a good argument about the Spidey sequel being better than the first. I think I'll watch them both and see if it changes my mind. @Joe - LOL on #3. I'm thinking you can now, or some day soon, add the Buffy boxes to that as well. That will learn you for buying TV on DVD!

Yeah, I’m really hoping for Del Toro’s At the Mountains of Madness. Heck, I’d be willing to wait for Hellboy 2 in order to get ATMOM first.

You definitely should check out Hellboy. I’d be curious to see what you thought. Be sure to check out the director’s cut–it’s longer, but it adds a few key scenes, and it’s one of the rare director’s cuts that I find superior to the theatrical one.
