Homerisms

“Boy, when Marge first told me she was going to the Police Academy, I thought it’d be fun and exciting, you know, like the movie Spaceballs. But instead, it’s been painful and disturbing, like the movie Police Academy.”

I figured I’d sprinkle these in every once in awhile. Just random Homer quotes that always make me laugh. I’ll also drop some quotes from Scrubs, The Office and anything that consistently makes me laugh (so yes, Mookie quotes too!)

  • I’ll see you and raise you a Stewieism:

“How you uh, how you comin’ on that novel you’re working on? Huh? Gotta a big, uh, big stack of papers there? Gotta, gotta nice litte story you’re working on there? Your big novel you’ve been working on for 3 years? Huh? Gotta, gotta compelling protaganist? Yeah? Gotta obstacle for him to overcome? Huh? Gotta story brewing there? Working on, working on that for quite some time? Huh? (voice getting higher pitched) Yea, talking about that 3 years ago. Been working on that the whole time? Nice little narrative? Beginning, middle, and end? Some friends become enemies, some enemies become friends? At the end your main character is richer from the experience? Yeah? Yeah? No, no, you deserve some time off.”

  • @JFCC – I think that is, how shall we say…lost in translation. Can you please provide a link to a sound bite somewhere so we can hear it? Maybe then it will be funny. I tried reading it in a Stewie voice, but it wasn’t working out for me…

@Ed – We can install a WordPress plug-in to automagically provide Simpson’s quotes somewhere on your blog. I remember seeing it while searching for that rating plug-in. Thanks for the Mooninites kid. Glad to see Err finally made an appearance.

  • Yup…still not funny. Maybe I need a visual, or maybe, just maybe, Stewie is just a mean little kid. Yeah, I said it. I know you were all thinking it and I said it dammit! Well, maybe Stewie needs to consider if Brian is having writer’s block dammit! Writer’s block isn’t funny dammit!

  • I’m surprised you haven’t seen it. It’s one of those long gags Family Guy does that starts out funny, then gets long so it’s not funny, and then becomes so long it’s funny again. It works much better onscreen and also if you’ve ever tried to write a novel.

Thanks for busting my balls about it, though.

  • You’re makin my point

BTW – I haven’t tried writing a novel and never will. Each one of my little comments is like a novel to me…I lie or change the facts about each one so that Oprah will love, but ultimately, kill me. That’s right, you are the most powerful woman in the entertainment biz and you got duped! Huzzah! (I still don’t know what that means, but I like the sound)

  • Look, let’s just forget I say anything. (Never let them see you cry, JFCC…big boys don’t cry…)
