The Perfect Storm

The Perfect Storm

Well here goes. An honest-to-goodness Blog entry. No commentary or humorous anecdote or snarky aside to be found here. Just some quick 4-1-1 on what’s up.

Three things have me briefly sidelined. A nasty headcold (no doubt – I am Patient Zero of the forthcoming bird flu pandemic) has already targeted me. Then, this morning, I woke to a call from Andi (who was staying with the kids at my Dad’s last night due to a wake she had to attend.) Anyway – she woke in the middle of the night – to a stomach bug knocking on the door.

The third piece of the puzzle is a client that is due to arrive on Friday for a big contract discussion. With that deadline looming – I have been soldiering on – working each day through this Nyquil haze to insure all is perfect for Friday.

Well the plan seemed fool-proof, but alas, all elements seem to have come together to form this Perfect Storm. Although I have avoided taking a sick day all week to tend to my own illness, I find myself having to take one today to travel to W. Bridgewater to rescue the kids from the clutches of the nasty virus that had designs on Andi. The remainder of the day will see me subsequently juggling child care, PowerPoint and warding off my own imminent demise – leaving little time for my 24 dispatch.

I’ll be back in form soon enough.
