Northern Exposure
Most of you live within a 90 mile radius of our family’s own particular slice of this Northern Hemisphere - so I imagine these pics are similar to that around your manse. That said - I do have a few readers who have left the tundra for warmer climes - so to those select few - I figured I’d share a spot of New England in February.
I should have known this was coming. A few weeks back - I defied the heavens when I made a friendly wager with Andi that we would not see a combined six inches of snow through the remainder of winter. Truth be told, I’m a veritable snow hound (love the white gold) so my wager was merely my way of slapping Mook’s patented reverse jinx on Mother Nature. I figured if Andi took the bet - we were bound to see blizzards and Nor’ Easters and the Polar Express make a bee line straight towards my noggin’ - all to my inner child’s delight.
So today I greet the 15″ + and declare, bring it on… and by the yard. The fact that it’s fallen on a Sunday makes it all the more perfect. Right now, the entire house is still with Andi, Aria, Colin, Abby and Chatham snoring through a midafternoon nap. When they wake - I’ve promised Colin a roaring fire.
I think we can see fit to top it all off with steaming mugs of hot cocoa. Yeah - let’s do this proper. Let’s do this Rockwell style.
